Summary: The Underwriting Associate will provide administrative and technical support to the Historic Property Underwriting Team of Maury Donnelly and Parr, Inc.’s Programs Department and report to the Underwriting Director and Senior Vice President of MDP Programs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform key underwriting file support functions for initial file creation and renewal preparation to include:
    • Conditional and Non-Renewal Compliance
    • Flood Zone verification, Motor Vehicle Report requests and Auto ID card processing
    • Premium Audit Processing and Distribution oversight
  • Perform quality checks of final proposals and policies for accuracy; issue policies.
  • Complete all billing hand-off sheets for policy, endorsement and audit premium payment processing
  • Assist with internal and external accounting & billing teams to ensure premiums are invoiced properly and paid in a timely manner
  • Handle endorsement and policy change requests and customer service needs
  • Conduct oral and written communication with agency partners
  • Perform other Underwriting and Administrative duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and six to twelve months of related experience (with the insurance carrier, broker, or agency).
  • Computer skills required: Microsoft Office suite, job-specific software

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Occasionally required to stand/walk; frequently required to sit; continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity and to talk and hear. Normal office environment.

Pay Range:

  • $45k – $55k

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At MDP, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is presented within this posting.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual bonus program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
